Your home is a reflection of who you are. More than that, it is a reflection of where you are at in the journey of your evolutionary process - as a person who is a part of society, as a human. As you evolve, so does your home.
There is one thing I have noticed in my 20-plus years of work and of closely working with clients from various walks of life - they all love their homes. It is the one thing they hold close to their hearts.
Is it not beautiful that our essence often finds a spatial manifestation in the space we inhabit? While we slip in and out of clothes and allow these clothes to act as the cover to our story, aren’t our homes are the place where our need to be joyful, comfortable, complete and, at the end of the day, unapologetically us, emerges?
Say what you will, but our space is perhaps one of the most intimate things about us. While it may be seen as a “Keeping up with the Joneses” activity from noon till night, it is also our safe haven.
In this blog, we aim to create a space for all those who love beautiful spaces, places, designs, and styles. We will be covering everything to do with home design theory to the history of certain arts to how we can give back to the community. From explainers on what certain terms imply (what even is “maximalism”?) to what the history behind them is. We will be also taking you on a tour of the world - which style emerges from where, what’s the story, the colour palette, elements...yes, the whole jazz.
Of course, we will also be looking at practical, actionable ways to make your immediate space beautiful. It is often the simplest things that make the biggest impact.
At Studio Covers, we have always asked why before what. And that is probably also why we are choosing tradition and timelessness over trend. We are choosing motifs that are inspired by everyday India, the craftsmanship that defines our vibrant country and fabric that is quintessentially Indian.
Fall is the season of warmth, comfort, pumkin spiced latters, and just embracing the idea of staying in with a book! We love Fall as does our Creative Partner Rukmini (Trumatter), who has penned down ways to incorporate cushions into your home this Fall like a dream.
